After a successful career that included 10 years as founder and CEO of a small high tech company, Bruce now focuses his time and energy on his family and the Mercer island Community.
He lives in the Island Point neighborhood with his wife Nannette, who is active in the Washington Women’s Foundation, the Mercer Island Farmers’ Market, the Mercer Island Visual Arts League and the Mercer Island Women’s Club. His daughter, Emily is a 10th grader now spending a year studying abroad and his son, William, is a 7th grader at IMS.
Since he was elected to the City Council in 2007, Bruce has served on the Utility Board, the Arts Council, the Parks and Recreation Subcommittee, the Design Commission, Eastside Transportation Partners, the City/School District Ad-hoc Committee, the Suburban Cities Association and the school district’s 21st Century Facilities Committee. He is a founder of the Healthy Ways to School program and a co-founder of the Mercer Island Green Ribbon Commission.
Bruce is a skier, soccer player, orienteer, biker and hiker who doesn’t find enough time to get outdoors.
