Cawaling has served as Executive Director since May 2008. A Seattle native, he has worked professionally as an artist and arts administrator for more than 20 years.

Her daughter attends Islander Middle School and her son attends Puget Sound Community School.

Elected in 2003, Braman served as President of the board in 2004-05 and as Legislative Rep since 2003. She has worked and lived in the community for more than 30 years, most of it as English teacher and department chair at Mercer Island High School, retiring in 1994. Pat has been involved in Mercer Island and broader community activities involving youth, the Chamber of Commerce, and education. Her sons graduated from MIHS in 1987 and 1990. Her grandchildren are in the classes of 2016, 2019, and 2020.

Dingle is a professor of Computer Science and the Thomas J. Bannan chair of Engineering and Computer Science at Seattle University, where she has taught for over 12 years.  Her four children attend University of Washington, Mercer Island High School, Islander Middle School and West Mercer Elementary.

State Senator Steve Litzow (R), 41st District, is a Mercer Island resident and former City Council member who served with Bassett over a period of three years.

State Representative Judy Clibborn (D), 41st District, is also a Mercer Island resident and is joined by State Representative Marcie Maxwell (D), 41st District, in endorsing Bassett’s bid for reelection.

Deputy King County Executive Fred Jarrett, a Mercer Island resident, has also lent his name in support of Bassett’s reelection to City Council.

Bruce Bassett attended an event in Mercer Island’s Pioneer Park as part of National Trails Day celebrations on Mercer Island.

Letterboxers hide small, weatherproof boxes in public areas such as parks and distribute clever clues to finding the box. Hunters decipher clues, search for boxes, and track their discoveries on logbooks using personalized rubber stamps.”

Bruce Bassett was on hand to participate and meet Island residents, and of course to hunt letterboxes.

Jane Meyer Brahm, Mercer Island City Council member, has endorsed Bruce Bassett for Mercer Island City Council.

Council member Brahm joins Council member Grausz and Mayor Pearman in endorsing Bassett, an indication of Bassett’s ability to work effectively on Council to move the public agenda forward.

In addition to Bruce, former mayor Elliot Newman, resident Elizabeth Cross Nichol, and Mercer Island Farmers Market president Joel Wachs were present.

The campaign to reelect Bruce Bassett to Mercer Island City Council has announced that more than 100 endorsers have lent their names in support of Bassett’s reelection to City Council.  A key sign of community support, campaign endorsers include volunteers, donors and engaged citizens who wish to see Bassett continue his work on the Council.

Mercer Islanders in public leadership positions have endorsed Bassett, including elected officials from both Democratic and Republican parties.  While City Council positions are non-partisan and not aligned with either political party, endorsements from across party lines underscores Bassett’s ability to forge common goals shared by all residents.

Campaigns for any elected office are costly.   Bassett’s campaign began fundraising in May and has attracted donations from numerous Mercer Island residents.   Campaign donations are taken through the campaign website, www.electbruce.org.
